Le Grand prix Jean-Pierre-Lecoq de l'Académie des sciences récompense chaque année, depuis 30 ans, un ou une scientifique de moins de 50 ans travaillant sur :
- la mise en évidence de l’origine des réarrangements génétiques pathologiques ;
- la dissection moléculaire des phénotypes pathologiques chez l’animal ou chez l’homme ;
- le développement de nouvelles approches pour le transfert de gènes ;
- la mise au point de nouvelles technologies permettant l’étude du génome humain ;
